The Beginning

Scott and Kathy Rosenow are the parents of 16 children and live in Cincinnati, Ohio. They have four biological and twelve adopted children. In 2002, they founded The Shepherd's Crook Ministries, which is a non-profit corporation devoted to promoting the cause of special-needs orphans throughout the world. Scott is the director of the ministry and it is their sole source of income. They live in a 2100 square foot house that would be difficult for that many people under the best of circumstances. But, many of their children have special needs, including one child who is blind, one child who uses a wheelchair and forearm crutches, and one child with brain damage who uses a wheelchair, walker and specialized equipment. To learn more about their story, click on the link to the right titled "Our History".

As the ministry has grown, so has the number of people who receive email updates and newsletters about the ministry. Many of those people have felt a burden to help the Rosenows with their housing situation. Over the years, people have volunteered to do projects around the house, converted rooms to bedrooms and built triple-level bunkbeds. All of these things provided a "bandaid" fix, but have not addressed the long term needs of the family.

A new team of people has formed to build a house for this family. Right now the team is small and the project is just in the planning stages. It is their goal that not only will all of the money, material and labor be donated, but that this will be a community project involving people from every church in the Cincinnati area.
